The Okavango Delta is a haven for bird enthusiasts, offering an incredible diversity of species to delight both seasoned twitchers and casual birders. The region is home to iconic birds like the majestic Fish Eagle and vibrant Malachite Kingfisher, as well as rarities such as the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl—a prized sighting for any birder. Birdwatching can be enjoyed from virtually anywhere in camp, and the experience is elevated by boat or mokoro excursions on the water. For those who prefer to stay on land, a designated trail winds through the surrounding forest and woodland, offering excellent birding opportunities. This trail can be explored independently or with a knowledgeable guide for a more immersive experience.

Game Drive (NAMIBIA): Mahangu is ideal for a morning game drive or exploring bird-rich Bwabwata Buffalo Park (6 hrs). Self-drive to the border or book a transfer (min. 2 persons).
Cultural Village Walk: Take a guided walk through the village of Kauxwi and experience the rhythms of daily life in this vibrant rural community. Interact with local residents and visit the primary school to engage with children and learn about their education. Spend time with skilled basket weavers and try your hand at traditional weaving techniques, gaining insight into the artistry passed down through generations. Discover how millet, a staple crop, is processed by hand to create a traditional meal and used to brew a local drink, complete with a tasting experience.
Alternatively, visit the Bushmen Kaputura Xoa Crafts, an eco-conscious initiative that combines traditional craftsmanship with storytelling. Learn how artisans create unique products using sustainable materials such as elephant dung paper and hear compelling stories about how the community coexists with elephants and shares the land with them.

- 3 litres of drinking water per person per day, as well as fruit juice for breakfast.
- If you would like to take any other drinks, we will supply a cooler and ice.
- Our semi-service Sahara Deluxe tents each feature two twin beds, electricity and lighting, a private resting patio, and shared reserved ablution facilities with amenities.

Embark on a day mokoro trip to the uninhabited islands of the Gowa floodplains for +-2 hours and stop on one of the islands for you to set up camp. Guided by local experts, you'll navigate the delta’s waterways in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe), visit remote islands, and observe diverse birdlife.
